Nationwide Coffee Recall: Potential Toxin Threatens Your Morning Brew
Hundreds of Snapchill Products Recalled
Snapchill LLC, a Wisconsin-based company, has announced a nationwide voluntary recall of all its canned coffee products manufactured within a specific time frame. The recall was prompted by concerns about a potentially deadly toxin that could be present in the beverages.
FDA Issues Recall Notice
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a recall notice on June 20, warning consumers not to purchase or consume any Snapchill canned coffee products. The recall affects 288 different products, which are sold through various coffee roasters, retail locations, and online marketplaces.
Potential Health Risks
According to the FDA, the potential toxin found in the canned coffee products is a bacterium called Clostridium botulinum. This bacterium can produce a toxin that causes botulism, a serious illness that can lead to paralysis and even death.
